AI video has gone from novelty to a normal part of some creators' toolkits, mostly for b roll, transitions and product shots rather than full videos.

What each is good at

Runway is the most editor friendly, with tools for extending and modifying existing footage. Veo produces the most cinematic results and integrates with Google's ecosystem. Kling is popular for its motion quality and pricing. Sora is strongest when you are already inside the ChatGPT subscription.

Costs

All use credit systems. Budget for many failed generations for every clip you keep. Per usable second, costs are still high for anything long.

Workflow that works

Generate short clips to cover gaps in real footage, keep humans on camera, and disclose AI use where platforms require it. Audiences are forgiving of AI b roll and unforgiving of AI presenters.
