Ask a car dealer, a landlord or a furniture maker in Dar es Salaam where their customers come from and Facebook comes up more often than any other platform.

Groups

Buy and sell groups organised by city and product category are effectively local classifieds with built in trust signals. Posting consistently in the right groups costs nothing and reaches buyers with intent.

Marketplace

Structured listings, search and messaging. Works well for cars, property, electronics and furniture.

Ads

Facebook and Instagram share the same ad system, and audiences in Tanzania remain inexpensive to reach compared with global averages. Lead ads that open a WhatsApp chat are the highest performing format for small businesses.

What has changed

Organic reach for Pages has fallen. The business is now in Groups, Marketplace, Ads and WhatsApp handoffs rather than Page posts.
