The freelancer who lands work from Dar es Salaam does not look different from the one in Manila or Lisbon. They look specific.

Title

Not "Virtual Assistant". Try "Executive assistant for founders: inbox, calendar, travel and CRM". The title is a search result, not a job description.

Overview

First two lines are all a client sees before clicking. Lead with the outcome you produce, then proof, then how you work.

Portfolio

Three pieces that match the work you want, not everything you have ever made. If you have no client work, make sample projects and label them as such.

Proposals

Read the brief. Answer the actual question in the first sentence. Keep it under 150 words. Ask one smart question at the end. Send ten a week for a month before judging the results.

Rates

Start slightly below the market rate for your niche, raise it after three reviews. Under pricing signals low quality to the clients you actually want.
